Photographs of the historic buildings of Kelvedon including much of the High Street, together with detailed information about the history of the buildings shown, can now also be viewed on the Images of England web site.

Images of England, a Millennium Project backed by the Royal Photographic Society, English Heritage, the Heritage Lottery Fund and the Department of Culture Media and Sport has produced a web site providing over 300,000 photographic images of England’s built heritage. This includes houses and churches and a wide variety of other, often much smaller, constructions.

Buildings in Kelvedon, including many situated in the High Street and within the Conservation area, have been included in this project. In addition to a photograph, the entry includes detailed information about the nature of the building and in some cases an indication of its past or present use. This provides an excellent opportunity to see and learn more about the fascinating heritage of our village.
